The Nursing program at the Universidad Regional Autónoma de los Andes (UNIANDES) trains well-rounded, highly competent professionals who are committed to the care of health and well-being of individuals, families, and communities, in alignment with social needs and the Ecuadorian health system.
The program is characterized by a strong scientific, humanistic, and ethical foundation, integrating up-to-date theoretical knowledge with extensive clinical and community-based practice from the early stages of the program. Students develop competencies for comprehensive care across the different stages of the life cycle, health promotion, disease prevention, recovery, and rehabilitation, with an intercultural, inclusive, and person-centered approach.
UNIANDES provides highly qualified faculty members, appropriate infrastructure, well-equipped laboratories, and agreements with health institutions that allow future nurses to strengthen their professional skills in real-world settings, responding with quality, compassion, and social responsibility to the challenges of professional practice.
Upon completion of the program, UNIANDES Nursing graduates are prepared to lead processes of care, management, research, and health education, contributing ethically and effectively to improving the population’s quality of life and to the development of the country’s health system.
